Privacy Policy
Updated 20 October 2026
Take 12 takes and develops your photos on your iPhone. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The App Store version of the app never sends your photos or anything about you to us.
Your photos
Photos and Super 8 films are taken, developed and kept inside the app on your iPhone. They are not uploaded anywhere. Your iPhone's own backups (iCloud or your computer) may include them, as they include any app's files, under your Apple settings.
To delete a photo or a roll, delete it in the app: it goes to Recently Deleted for 30 days, then it's gone. Deleting the app deletes everything it holds.
What the app uses on your iPhone
- Camera: to take your pictures. The live view and the pictures stay on your iPhone.
- Microphone: only for the sound of the Super 8 movie camera's films.
- Photos: only to add a photo to your library when you tap Save. The app can't see your library.
- Notifications: to tell you a roll is back from the lab. They are scheduled on your iPhone and never pass through us.
You can turn any of these off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Purchases
The full version and tips are bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details, name or Apple ID. The app reads Apple's record of what you've bought on your iPhone to switch the full version on.
Test versions (TestFlight)
Test versions have one extra: Send to Tomer, so testers can help tune the films on other phones. Nothing is sent unless a tester taps it on a photo. Then the app uploads:
- that photo's original RAW file (and the second RAW taken with it, if there is one),
- a short note: the camera, film and settings the photo was taken with, the phone model and the app's build,
- the first name the tester typed, and a code made from the app's ID on that phone, so two testers with the same name don't get mixed up.
These files are stored with Cloudflare, used only to tune the app's films, and deleted when that work is done. The App Store version doesn't have Send to Tomer. Test versions keep each photo's RAW on the phone for 14 days so it can be sent, then delete it.
Children
Take 12 is not made for children under 13 and doesn't knowingly handle any child's information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever starts sending anything new, this page will say so before it does.
